[Oct. 5, 2017]  Nationals is thrilled to announce our partnership with Maya Prep to help our student-athletes maximize their SAT scores.  Maya is a regional provider of SAT and ACT preparation courses which has enabled over 1,000 students to gain admittance to the colleges, universities and programs of their choice.   Past students have reached their goals of attending top schools, including Cornell, Harvard, MIT, Michigan State University, Northwestern, Purdue, University of California Berkley, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, University of Virginia, Wayne State University, and many more.

The SAT is a standardized aptitude test used by most colleges and universities as a factor for admission.   Maya's students see an average improvement of 200 points on their SAT scores and have earned thousands of dollars in academic and merit scholarships.

“It is with a great deal of excitement and optimism that we announce our partnership with Maya Prep,” said Steve Corder, Nationals College Program Director.  “Achieving high test scores is an integral aspect of the recruitment process, and this partnership adds to our commitment to provide the best college preparation services available for our student-athletes.  We strongly believe that this Maya Prep course will be an asset to our Nationals players in achieving their college education and soccer goals.”

Maya Prep will offer a 22-week, instructor-led course at Ultimate Soccer Arenas, 867 South Blvd E, Pontiac, MI 48341.  Classes will take place on Sundays from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, starting on Sunday, November 5, 2017 and ending April 8, 2018.   Classes will include interactive subject-specific teaching and review, strategies and techniques for studying and taking the SAT, timed practice section tests and test feedback.  Students will be provided their test results each week to track progress.

Students will be assigned homework each week which will prepare them for the following week's lesson.  Assignments will be emailed to the students to print, complete and bring with them to the next class.  Required items to bring to each class are pencils, an eraser, a notebook and a graphing calculator.  Parents and students are also required to attend at least two student-teacher conferences during the 22-week course.

Maya recognizes the time demands on travel athletes and realizes that distant games and tournaments make in-person attendance challenging at times.  Therefore, students will be able to participate remotely via Google Hangout during class time.  Those students will be able to view the lessons and participate as though they were sitting right there in class!

The cost of this 22-week course is $1,100.

Maya Prep is proud of their commitment to the communities and students they serve.   They have provided their services to local high schools and student-athletes to enhance or replace existing test preparation initiatives.  They are proud of the hard work, dedication and success their students have achieved, as exemplified by these testimonials:

"Maya Prep helped and inspired my son Patrick Kananen to reach his highest potential in both ACT and SAT.  The instructors were very organized, very knowledgeable of their subjects, super approachable, and very helpful.  Their motivational speeches inspired my son to be the best he can be.  Patrick was accepted to 5 out of 6 schools he applied to and received Presidential scholarships to all of the out-of-state schools because of his high scores in ACT and SAT.  Patrick will attend Purdue University’s Engineering program majoring in Computer Science."  [Ana-Maria Kananen, Math Teacher, Plymouth-Canton Schools]

Thanks to Maya Prep I earned a perfect composite score on my ACT in addition to scoring in the top 95% on the SAT!"  [Smit Chitre, Harvard University Student]

I enrolled my daughter in Maya Prep after she took the PSAT in high school.  The course enabled my daughter to increase her SAT score by 200 points which resulted in a merit scholarship from Purdue University Fort Wayne.  The course more than paid for itself in what it will save me in future college spend.  Looking back, the only thing I would have done different is to enroll her in the course BEFORE taking the PSAT.  Thanks Maya Prep!”  [Fred Coe, Nationals Parent]

Attend the FREE Orientation Class on Monday, October 23 or Thursday, October 26 from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Ultimate Soccer Arenas, large conference room near field #3.
