Nationals College Program

Nationals Partners with SportsRecruits for College Recruiting & Kicks-Off College Preparation Seminar Series!

Steve Corder - Program Director

Hi Nationals Families of High School Players in Girls DA, Macomb & Union!

Through our Nationals College Preparation Program, we are committed to assist players to achieve their higher education academic and athletic goals.  This program is led by Stephen Corder, who is the Assistant Athletic Director for NCAA Compliance at University of Detroit Mercy, Owner of Corder Sports Consulting, and our very own Nationals Macomb Coach.

Knowing that the college preparation process can seem overwhelming and confusing at times, Nationals is excited to announce a new opportunity for our college-bound athletes to ultimately communicate with college coaches utilizing an on-line platform.  We are pleased to formally announce that we have partnered with SportsRecruits USA as a key component to the Nationals College Preparation process!  This on-line platform offers current players and their families the ability to easily identify the colleges and universities that fit their needs and to communicate with the college coaches.  After partnering with SportsRecruits in early August, Nationals has worked with them on platform set-up, coaches training, and player account activation.  All players have been granted access to the platform through a series of communications from SportsRecruits and Nationals.  If a player cannot activate their account they should contact Steve Corder at SteveC@NationalsSoccer.com.  Players are asked to ensure they have activated their SportsRecruits account prior to attending their respective College Preparation Seminar (see below), https://sportsrecruits.wistia.com/medias/fuqkxakav1

The foundation of our college preparation program has been the College Preparation Seminars for all current high-school aged players and families.  These seminars include key college recruiting process information such as: recruiting regulations, initial eligibility requirements, verbal commitments, new legislation, PSA eligibility analysis, scholarships and financial aid.  And now the seminars will include information about the new SportsRecruits on-line platform.  Stephen Corder will conduct each seminar throughout the winter months at Ultimate Soccer Arenas (large conference room), and he will also provide personalized support throughout the college selection and recruitment process.
